Day 218

It's been a month since our last update so we'll just share some highlights.

8/26-8/31/24:

//LASTS// We're so happy that Melody Grace is nearing official remission as she starts to experience the "last of" a few things. This was her LAST 5 consecutive day chemo treatment. On 8/31/24, she received her LAST Neulasta shot. God willing, this could also be her LAST time spending the night in the hospital.

Room 21 was the very first room that we stayed in back when this all started in February. Somehow we never stayed in Room 21 again until now. We're hoping that this is a sign from God that this will be her LAST time being admitted to Cedars. Huge thank you to the Peds doctors and nurses.

That Friday, Cedars offered us a one-night hotel stay at Sofitel which is right next to the hospital. We had shared that we were reluctant to drive all the way home on Friday, just to drive back on Saturday for a shot, and then back home again afterwards. From experience, this much driving has been too much for Grace after getting so much chemo. It was a nice treat to stay at the hotel for the night, and her sister, Jaylee was able to join us.

9/17-9/19/24:

Grace was having stomach pains and vomiting. She barely had any energy, and was awake on Wednesday for only 3 hours. On Thursday, we brought her to the hospital and she received a blood transfusion. On Friday, she finally started feeling better and gained her energy back.

9/25/24:

Grace received really sweet and cute cards and a video from her classmates. They definitely brought joy to our hearts!

COMING UP (10/7/24):

Grace will have her last chemo treatment this day! Her last one!! We are excited, relieved, and grateful that there is an end to this. She will need time to build up her immunity before she will get the okay to go back to regular activities and in-person school.

Thank you all for your continued prayers and thoughts.
