Day 183

Image
Melody is having a good week. She’s been eating well and is full of energy. Yesterday was her first day of 1st grade. We’ve enrolled her in an online charter school while she is still receiving treatment and not able to attend school in-person. It was a little rough to get her back into school mode, but she was able to push through and had a pretty good first day. Next week, she will be having a 5-day treatment so she will be inpatient from Monday-Saturday. These treatments usually take a toll on her body so please continue to pray for her.

Day 175

Last week Melody had a rough week. She vomited all day Tuesday and wasn’t able to keep down any medicine we gave her. She was still vomiting on Wednesday so we brought her to the hospital to get some fluids. She was extremely dehydrated, and had low blood sugar. Her doctor decided to have her admitted so they can run some scans. Thankfully they were able to get her hydrated, give her nausea medicine, and she also needed a blood transfusion. She started to feel better and was finally able to eat. Melody needs 3 more chemo sessions to complete her treatment. The next one will be a 5-day in-patient treatment. Her body is starting to take a little longer to recover between treatments. We ask that you continue to pray for her and her recovery. She wasn’t happy about getting into different positions for her x-rays but she looks very cute doing it.

Here are the latest updates from July: 7/31, Wednesday -  Melody had a CT scan, EKG, and Echo. Thankfully, there are no old or new signs of lesions in her lungs or liver. Echo looks normal. EKG still needs to be read by specialist but her doctor said it looks good to her. Spending the whole day at the hospital for scans and labs are not the greatest, but Melody was a champ! Her counts have been going back up except her platelets were still low. We are praying that they go up to at least 75k by Monday (8/5), otherwise her chemo treatment will need to be delayed. 7/26, Friday - Melody was admitted for a fever. Her ANC was at 0. She also needed platelets and blood transfusions. Thankfully, we only had to spend 2 nights in the hospital. 7/13, Saturday -   We shared this on our social m...
